This was a present from my parents for my now 6 month old baby. I myself didn't opt to buy this since it is basic in appearance and I wasn't certain my son would enjoy a non-colorful toy. I did put it on my approved list of gifts earlier on and am thankful I forgot to remove them from the list. When this toy arrived it was scratched at the top of one of the balls as well as at the base of the same ball. When I contacted the company, they promptly sent me a new one, free of defects within a week. My 6 month old has enjoyed playing with this toy for quite some time now. I believe he started grasping toys around 3 or 4 months old. I think anytime after a baby shows they can grasp a toy is a perfect time to introduce this simple but wonderful rattle. After a couple of months of use my son still plays with this happily when we hand it to him. It is not a toy that loses it's luster. The rings make a soft clacking noise as the rattle is shaken about. There is no actual bell-type rattle sound that comes from the balls at the end. The rattle is sound that is emitted by the rings around the bar in the middle. We have a 2 year old toddler as well, and I do wish I had gotten her this toy two years ago when she was just starting to reach and grasp objects. If I misplace this toy, I will be sure to get one for my future babies. Highly recommend!

Pros: Of great quality as a wood toy, no funny smells. Size fits. Baby loves it. Shake it a lot to make sounds. Very inspirational. check the video for how an infant would interact with it. Cons: Not sure how to clean thoroughly...

Nice Rattle
This makes a great gift and wonderful play toy for babies. I like that my baby isn't playing with plastic. The rattle offers two chewing/knocking areas (end circles) and the rings offer sound interest as well as visual stimulation. I've been very pleased by the quality of this product. I added coconut oil to the wood to shine and for taste purposes. Two thumbs up.

Purchased this as an alternative to a colorful stimulating rattle for my 2 month old. She’s starting to grip things but this is just a bit too big for her. She loved the sound of this rattle though when mommy shakes it for her versus her other. I’m sure she will be more interested and able to grip as the weeks go by.

Nice fun and natural baby toy
I love that this is a natural wood product. I love how nice and silky smooth the wood is. The rattle sound isn’t amazing but my baby and I spend lots of time playing with it. It’s mesmerizing. I don’t think it is a great tether at least for my 6 month baby because she has a really hard time getting it to her mouth and can’t really chew it. The round ends are too large for her mouth and the rings on the side are hard to position for her. It is however entertaining to watch her endlessly attempt to put it in her mouth.

My baby loved this. Not sure if it’s noted in the description or not, but the straight rod in the middle is the only part that appears to be made of walnut. It’s beautiful though. He loves to play with it, and it’s great for teething. Very happy with this purchase.

These are super cute and unique. From toys to clothes to baby accessories in general I have had such a difficult time finding gender neutral things (we're not finding out what we're having). This fit the bill and I ordered the two pack so I can give one as a gift! I can't wait until our little one is here and he/she can play with this rattle in time.

I love this rattle by Hombi Baby, and more importantly so does my baby. My son was born at 24 weeks, and is ventilator dependent and trached. He suffered a grade 2 ventricular hemorrhage, so I try to buy him only the best. Montessori inspired toys are the best, and this rattle doesn't fall short.
