My favorite bug book for kids
This book is SO fun to read! The rhymes are silly and get my toddler laughing every time. The artwork is hilarious and kind of wacky, which makes the bugs more relatable and less spooky. Oh! And if you're a ladybug fan, this is a MUST! Kids can look for the ladybug on each page and he's usually doing something pretty silly. My 2-year-old loves finding him. Rolly pollys are also a favorite in our house, so the fact that there's a page dedicated to them sold me on this book. Even though this is a board book, we'll be reading this one for many days to come.
Love this book!!
This is the cutest book! My little one loves finding bugs, and we look for worms on the daily 😆 I originally got this book to put next to his sensorial table that I made him with dyed rice & hidden fake bugs (see pic) & he absolutely loves it! I love how it rhymes, has great pictures & has a page of what the bugs are (with their actual names).
The board book is too small
The board book version is only 5” which makes all the bugs and their names extremely hard to see. Defeats the whole purpose of a board book for toddlers. For roughly the same price you should buy the hardcover version which is twice as large.
This book is like crack to my 16 month old
I bought this book as a gift for my friend's son, but when it arrived, my daughter saw it and wanted me to read it to her, so I did. Then again. Then again. Needless to say, I had to buy a second copy to send to my friend's son. It's been about a week, and my daughter is OBSESSED. There have been tantrums when we need to stop reading Some Bugs to do something else. It's by far her favorite book. The illustrations are so colorful and layered, there are so many things to look at. She loves pointing at the different bugs (her favorite ones are the hawk moth and the dog tick). The text has a great rhythm and is fun to read, I'm not tired of it yet after our hundredth reading. I highly recommend this gorgeous, fun book.
A bug introduction must for Little Ones
This book blew us away! It is so good. The illustrations are amazing. The book is a great introduction to the world of bugs for little ones. Each page talks about the different things that bugs do (i.e.: stinging, hoping, etc..). It is very simple text. At first, we were a little bummed that the book didn't tell you what each bug was...however, get to the last page and there is a lovely visual with all the bugs featured in the book along with their names. Such a good book. We are so happy to have come across this. Our son love it.
Whimsical little- so much to see- book!
This is adorable, so glad I got it for grand baby! She is impatient, flipping pages for more and more color. And this book has in plenty of delightful images of mushrooms, plants, bugs, a raccoon and kitty... and swift rhyming words, not too many so I can actually say it all before she turns the page. Well, some of the time... So much to point at and talk about, and a page showing each insect in the book at the end, with names. Very happy with this one!
Beautiful illustrations & learn big names!
His love for bugs has grown! Fabulous illustrations. Simple words through book & no real story line of but it’s his FAVORITE! It has all bugs in book names listed in back. GREAT to teach them big names....he’s only 2 and says praying mantis, Halloween pennant dragonfly, boweevil etc!!!! When we learn a new bug we check out the back and practice saying the name. I only wish the board book came in a larger size to see bugs & names better. Still LOVE & a must!
The kid and I both love this book
I am so enamored with the illustrator of this book that I've taken to buying almost everything he does. The illustrations here are so cute and playful! My daughter wants to read this almost every single day. She loves to point out the bugs on the different page and we make up stories about them. She can now recognize so many bugs we when go outside and is really excited to see them in real life! She laughs at the antics of the ladybug on each page and loves that there are different animals hidden in with the bugs. Really can't say enough good things about this book. My only caution is that there aren't really a lot of words, so if you aren't comfortable ad-libbing or making up stories you may find it a bit boring. But if you make it interactive it's really fun!
Appealing to children’s eyes!
This book shows all different types of bugs in ways a child can enjoy them. The illustrations are attractive and colorful. I keep a board book in my daughters crib so when she wakes up in the morning she’ll quietly “read” for a while before alerting us she’s awake... this is one she stays entertained with. Definitely worth the purchase.
Informative book with cute messege
I am a sucker for teaching books. I hope to raise children that are kind and knowledgeable (obviously I think everyone hopes for this) but I want that to transpire to animals (including bugs). This little storyline is a cute way to encourage children to go outside and look around for the creepy crawly little critters.
